Gerunds vs Infinitives
Gerunds (verb-ing) and infinitives (to + verb) can both function as nouns. Some verbs are followed by gerunds, some by infinitives, and some by either with a change in meaning.
Why it matters: Knowing which form follows which verb is essential for correct grammar.
Main uses:
- Gerund as subject/noun
- Verbs followed by gerund
- Verbs followed by infinitive
- Verbs followed by either (with meaning change)
